Edward Loniewski, D.O.Edward G. Loniewski, DO

Dr. Loniewski is a specialist in adult reconstruction of the hips and knees. In addition, he is one of the few certified physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. He treats disorders of the shoulder, knee, elbow, ankle, and hip. Although he is fellowship trained in the surgical treatment of arthritis, he has developed a unique treatment protocol called the Comprehensive Arthritis Recovery and Education (CARE) program which is now used by the Arthritis Foundation of Michigan to educate community leaders on the benefits of simple interventions to halt the progression of this disabling disease. In addition to this non-surgical approach, Dr. Loniewski has developed a holistic approach to the surgical treatment of arthritis as the director of the Saint Joseph Mercy Health System's Bone and Joint Program. This program was founded by Dr. Loniewski in 1998 and with the help of the staff at McPherson Hospital; he has been able to help hundreds of patients return to a productive lifestyle with less pain. The program was just recognized by the Michigan Hospital Association as having the lowest length of stay for knee replacement. This parameter is used as one of the most powerful indications of a productive program. Through these two programs, Dr. Loniewski has been able to continually provide the most advanced methods to treat arthritis and osteoporosis to the people of Livingston County.

Dr. Loniewski has had extensive training in the prevention and treatment of arthritis and osteoporosis. He is board certified and is fellowship trained through the University of Chicago. His practice has grown by over 250% over the past few years, but he has been able to continually provide patient -centered care due to his background as a hotel and restaurant manger. Patient satisfaction has always been a center of his career as he continually develops new methods to fulfill the needs of his patients.
